The Lagos State Special People’s Law summarises LASODA’s mandate into 8 core service areas.

Advocacy & Public Enlightenment
Advocacy, public enlightenment, and reorientation of the public on disability inclusion and rights.
Registration & PWD Database
Registration and coordination of associations of PWDs in Lagos State, including a disability database for proper planning.
Policy Collaboration
Collaboration with ministries, parastatals, corporate bodies, and international organisations to promote accessibility and best practice.
Education & Welfare Guidelines
Issuance of directives and guidelines for education, social development, welfare, and preventive or curative support.
Sports & Special Schools
Guidelines and directives to relevant authorities on special sports initiatives and special schools for persons with disabilities.
Certificates & Parking Insignia
Issuance and revocation of certificates of disability and customised insignia for reserved parking lots.
Compliance, Complaints & Rights Protection
Receiving complaints, investigation, prosecution, and sanctions in appropriate cases while protecting the rights guaranteed by law.
Schools, Vocational & Rehabilitation Centres
Establishment and promotion of schools, vocational centres, and rehabilitation centres for the development of persons with disabilities.
